The leading development themes for Kokkola’s ecosystem agreement (tem.fi) are battery chemistry, the circular economy and intelligent solutions supporting industry. The vision for the areas of focus is to promote the availability of skilled labour, support industrial growth and promote new business and industrial exports.

The battery chemistry ecosystem is internationally recognised and an integral part of the European ecosystem, and there is a desire to further increase the expertise in the field.

For circular economy, it is essential to identify the utilization and business potential of critical side streams. The Kokkola Industrial Park is a pioneer in industrial circular economy, and this ecosystem will be reinforced with cooperation between the region’s higher education institutions and industry.
